And to take care of the growth, significance of knowing what the growth is cannot be emphasized more. To help you out in such situations, we have put together common allergies or infections you might experience after nose piercing.
1. Keloids
Keloids are kind of formations that occur when the body tries to defend against any surgery. They vary in sizes and they can be removed with the help of a medical treatment or a surgery. There is nothing really inside the swollen bumpy part. Keloids can also be formed because of tattoo piercing. If you think that you have a sensitive skin, then it is recommended that you avoid any form of art work or piercing on your body. Keloids are not painful so if it pains, then it might be a non-keloid growth.
2. Non-keloids
If it hurts, pains, seeps and oozes, it’s not keloid. Most of these infections occur when piercing is fresh. They might also occur later due to any external stimulus or unhygienic conditions. The best solution is to apply skin creams or stick to home remedies.
3. Infection
When piercing is fresh, microorganisms try to invade the body and this is how infection is caused. The infection generally takes shape in the form of redness and swelling in the area around. The infection might also be accompanied by fever, body aches and nausea.
4. Metal allergy
If you have some form of allergy to metals, then piercing will put additional strain on the immune system. So, try to avoid piercing in that case. If you really want to go for piercing, it is your responsibility to inform beforehand about the metals you might be allergic too.
5. Boil and Abscesses
They are caused due to bacterial infection. They are infections that spread very fast to the adjoining areas of the skin. It is advisable to detect them in an early stage and treat them effectively before they worsen. The boils have pus inside them which might have to be treated surgically. People with a sensitive skin are more prone to these infections. But, others are also not completely free from those complications. If you face any such problem, do visit a dermatologist and get yourself treated soon.
