Aviation Tattoos: An Ode to Sully
The awe-inspiring maneuvers and emergency crash landing of the US Airways jetliner into the Hudson River yesterday — where all 155 people survived — has me obsessed with the pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger III.
Sully is not only a hero, but a “stud”, and should be appointed Obama’s “Secretary of Awesomeness.” I’m so Sully-smitten that I even joined his Facebook fanpage.
[In fact, I encourage the Sully portrait over that of Lil Wayne.]
And so in honor of the studly pilot, I’m revisting a site of aviation tattoo awesomeness, Tattoos in Flight, which includes posts like this one on the work of Adam Kilss of LA’s Art & Soul Tattoo, whose work is shown here.
